Über Chester College International School
Chester College International School is a private American day and boarding school that has been successfully running academic year programs as well as international summer camps for children and teenagers since 1985. It is authorised by the Spanish Ministry of Education and accredited by the US accreditation agency AdvancED. It is located in the outskirts of Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
Credits taken at CCIS are automatically transferrable to other American schools. Similarly, transfer systems apply to other educational systems in Europe and the rest of the world.
It offers a bilingual American High-School curriculum: subjects may be taught in English or Spanish, depending on the student´s language level. If a student has little or no Spanish at all at school start, he/she may have most subjects (other than Spanish as a Second Language) taught through English and introduce subjects through Spanish gradually, as the second language becomes reinforced. The school offers, thus, a magnificent, language immersion opportunity to become proficient in Spanish, whilst enhancing the student´s English language level.
Chester College is an official SAT and AP exam centre. It offers preparation to US and Spain´s University-entrance exams, as well as guidance and supervision in access to other European university systems.
It is a small school, which facilitates one-on-one personal attention, both in classroom and career guidance settings.
